Baby Weighing Bags Donated
The 2019 mission team from Memorial Drive United Methodist Church in Houston, Texas presented a new set of baby weighing bags. The bags were cut and sewn by Delora Cain, who saw the need for these on the Friends of Maua Hospital Facebook page. Although Delora did not go to Maua, she had a daughter, son-in-law, grandson and daughter-in-law on the mission team.
The fabric was donated by The Undercover Ladies Sewing Group and the Quilt Hug Quilting Group from the Richardson Texas Senior Center. The volunteers in these groups meet weekly to combine their sewing and design skills to make blankets, quilts and other household and kitchen items for charity. They donate baby blankets to various hospitals in the Dallas area and donate quilts to United States veterans. The groups were thrilled to be able to use their talents and resources to help the Maua Methodist Hospital.
